- CCI is used to couple EFT/burst pulses onto I/O lines as required by various European and international immunity testing standards.
- Coupling of electrical fast transients (EFT/burst) onto signal lines usually cannot be achieved by discrete capacitive coupling without disturbing signal transmission. In many cases, it is not possible to connect directly to the circuit under test, for example via coaxial or shielded cables. In such cases, coupling is performed using a capacitive coupling clamp.
- The interference simulator can be connected on either side of the coupling clamp. The standard IEC 61000-4-4 ed. 3.0, published in 2012, recommends calibration of the capacitive coupling clamp into a 50-ohm coaxial load using the normative calibration set CCI PVKIT 1.
