Detailed Product Overview

The HIOKI IM3523A is a benchtop LCR meter designed for reliable testing of passive components such as capacitors, resistors, and inductors over a frequency range from 40 Hz to 200 kHz and an impedance measurement range from 10 mΩ to 200 MΩ. With a basic accuracy of ±0.08% and a typical measurement speed of 2 ms, it supports both laboratory and production testing. Adjustable test signal levels from 5 mV to 5 V and from 10 µA to 50 mA enable measurement conditions to be adapted for a wide range of components, from precision capacitors to power inductors.

Measurement Functions

The IM3523A supports continuous measurement, allowing up to four measurement parameters to be acquired sequentially by automatically switching between two displayable parameter pairs. This supports efficient testing when multiple characteristics need to be evaluated. The instrument also provides DC resistance measurement, as well as comparator and BIN functions for limit checking and classification. Cable length compensation (0 m / 1 m) and a four-terminal contact check function support stable measurements by detecting open or poor connections. 

DC bias measurements are possible when using optional external DC bias units. The 9268- 10 DC Bias Voltage Unit allows external DC voltage sources up to ±40 V to be coupled to the measurement path, while the 9269-10 DC Bias Current Unit supports the connection of external DC current sources up to 2 A. 

Operation and System Integration

A high-contrast monochrome LCD and a clearly structured front-panel key layout enable clear display of measurement values and fast parameter changes. The compact form factor supports use in automated test environments, while short measurement times enable high throughput. USB, LAN (100BASE-T), and EXT I/O are provided as standard interfaces for PC control and system integration. 

Designed and manufactured in Japan, the IM3523A is intended for reproducible measurement results in laboratory and production environments.
