L2140 Test Leads

The L2140 test lead set is designed for four-terminal DC resistance measurements with the HIOKI RM3548-50 portable resistance meter. It enables accurate measurements even between widely spaced test points, for example during maintenance of electric and hybrid vehicles, equipotential bonding tests, battery connection checks, motor winding inspections, or resistance verification of industrial motors, transformers, and power supply systems.

The red lead is equipped with a straight spring-loaded pogo-pin probe tip (tip diameter Ø 2.9 mm), which provides stable contact on screws, busbars, or metallic terminals. The black lead features a large alligator clip that securely grips objects up to Ø 30 mm, ensuring reliable connection to grounding points or large conductors.

Each pair of leads is designed for four-terminal measurement, with separate SOURCE and SENSE lines to minimize the influence of lead resistance and maintain consistent measurement accuracy even over longer distances. The leads are not physically joined, allowing flexible placement over several meters. This configuration is suitable for DC resistance measurements, but not for AC impedance measurements, where parallel cable routing is required to reduce inductive effects.

The set is rated for 60 V DC, providing a sufficient safety margin for precise DC resistance testing. It is compatible with the RM3548-50, RM3548, and other instruments equipped with compatible connectors. Thanks to its long and flexible design, it is also suitable for laboratory test bench applications, for example with resistance meters such as the HIOKI RM3545A.
