    Parameters and specifications

HIOKI is a completely new series of modular data loggers, developed especially for testing needs in the field of electromobility and renewable energy - but not only there.

The basic LR8102 module, which provides communication with the host system (PC), must be supplemented with at least one measuring unit. If one or more units (but max. 4 units per logger) are used for power measurement (M7103), an M1100 power supply must also be installed in the system. Thanks to the optical synchronisation between the individual LR8102 loggers with the fitted input units, it is possible to build a truly multi-channel system with up to 3000 channels:

max. number of channels vs. sampling rate 800 (5 ms), 1500 (10 ms), 3000 (20 ms)
max. number of connected input modules 10 (with a limit of max. 4x M7103)
communication interface 2x LAN, 1x CAN
real-time sending of measured values (for HIL simulations) YES (via LAN2 or CAN interface)
possibility of synchronizing multiple loggers YES, max. 10. via fiber optic cables.
Compatible input units M7100: 15 channels (voltage, temperature); max. 1500 VDC (to ground), fastest sampling time 5 ms
M7102: 30 channels (voltage, temperature); max. 600 VDC (to ground), fastest sampling 10 ms
M7103: 3 channels (U+I); max. 1500 VDC (to ground), 500 kHz sampling, range of measured currents according to the type of HIOKI probe connected
M1100: power supply for 1 or more M7103 units

    Applications

Monitoring of entire BEV traction battery packs during charge/discharge test. With multi-channel measurement and the ability to measure high voltages up to 1500 VDC, it is possible to measure up to hundreds of individual battery cells while monitoring the behavior of the battery pack as a whole, including the temperatures of the individual cells. At the same time, the LR8102 also meets the requirements for hardware-in-the-loop simulations thanks to its high communication speed with the host PC:

Multi-channel testing of string inverters - the LR8102 datalogger offers the possibility of simultaneous measurements on up to 120 power channels simultaneously. The graphic below shows an example of a 36-channel connection:
