    Detailed Product Overview

The PD3129-10 is a non-contact digital phase rotation tester for checking phase sequence and verifying live lines in three-phase circuits. The instrument is also commonly known as a phase sequence tester or phase rotation tester. With its non-contact voltage clamps, the device allows conductors to be tested directly through their insulation, eliminating the need to strip wires or expose live parts. This makes phase checks quicker and safer, and also allows less experienced personnel to carry out basic testing without additional qualifications or protective measures.

The clips accept conductor diameters from 7 mm to 40 mm. With its CAT IV 600 V / CAT III 1000 V rating, the PD3129-10 is particularly suited for industrial and utility applications, where thicker cables and higher installation categories are common. By contrast, the sister model PD3129 with its smaller clips and CAT III 600 V rating is targeted at residential buildings and small commercial installations.

To beep or not to beep

Two control lamps confirm that the R, S, and T clips are properly connected to live lines. Once all three phases are connected, the PD3129-10 indicates whether the R–S–T phase sequence is normal or reversed. In the normal case, a green arrow lights up and four red LEDs rotate as a running pattern while a short beep sounds once per second. If the sequence is incorrect, the instrument emits a continuous tone and the green arrow and running LEDs remain off.

For hands-free operation, the PD3129-10 can be conveniently attached to a distribution panel or cabinet door using the built-in magnets on the rear housing. With approx. 200 hours of continuous operation from two AA batteries, it is a practical tool for electricians and maintenance professionals. As a practical phase indicator, it provides clear visual and audible confirmation of phase order, even in noisy or dim environments.

    Made in Japan
