Pre-certification EMC testing
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and related electromagnetic interference (EMI) is one of those necessary evils that must be overcome before any electricity-related product can be placed on the market. Unfortunately, the field of EMC is still among the developing ones and few universities and colleges are giving due attention to it. This results in the fact that getting a person who is capable of debugging any equipment to meet EMC/EMI requirements is very difficult. Compliance with EMC or EMI is often left to the end of the project resulting in delays and multiple costs.
EMC/EMI testing in the pre-project phase is important and companies are increasingly realizing this.
There is not always a need to invest in equipment for a certified test facility, pre-certification testing can be handled with equipment you can use in other ways.
For shielding, all you need are shade tents, Shieldex®, which we are now offering to customers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
You can read how to choose other equipment in two articles from Tektronix that focus on EMI/EMC pre-certification testing.
