    Detailed Product Overview

The HIOKI PW3360-21 is a portable three-phase power and energy logger covering 90 V to 780 V AC at 50/60 Hz. It supports measurements from single-phase 2-wire to three-phase 4-wire systems and is suitable for use in factories, commercial buildings, and residential facilities. Compared to the PW3360-20, this model also offers harmonic analysis up to the 40th order. The built-in SD card slot supports memory cards up to 8 GB, enabling stand-alone logging of power usage and demand over extended periods.

The instrument delivers high-precision readings with a basic accuracy of ±0.4% for active power (excluding current sensor accuracy). This level of accuracy ensures trustworthy evaluation of power consumption and helps identify potential energy losses and opportunities for efficiency improvements.

The PW3360-21 adds full harmonic measurement capability, allowing analysis of voltage, current, and power harmonics up to the 40th order. This feature is exclusive to the PW3360-21 and is not available on the PW3360-20. Harmonic results can be viewed as bar graphs, numerical lists, or by examining the phase angle of each harmonic, offering clear and versatile analysis options. Harmonic data can also be logged at the same intervals as standard measurement values, supporting long-term assessment of distortion trends. For detailed evaluation, data can be reviewed on a PC using the separately sold SF1001 Power Logger Viewer software. These capabilities help pinpoint power quality issues affecting equipment performance, energy efficiency, or overall system stability. Harmonic analysis is especially valuable in facilities with motor drives, power electronics, or extensive IT infrastructure.

To perform measurements, the PW3360-21 requires AC current sensors equipped with a BNC connector. These sensors are not included and must be ordered separately. By selecting the appropriate sensor type, users can match the measurement range to their specific monitoring needs, from low currents to several kiloamperes.

The PW3360-21 can log both load current and leak current, supporting energy usage assessments as well as electrical safety checks. Load current logging provides insight into the power consumption of machines, panels, or entire facilities and helps reveal inefficiencies that can be corrected to reduce energy waste. Leakage current logging detects unintended electrical leakage, which may indicate insulation deterioration, wiring faults, or aging equipment. Monitoring leakage current is essential for preventing hazards, reducing fire risk, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Combined, these functions support early identification of inefficiencies and potential faults, improving system reliability and operational safety.

The included Z1006 AC adapter enables operation from a standard power outlet. If no outlet is available, the instrument can also be powered by the optional PW9002 Battery Set or the optional PW9003 Voltage Line Power Adapter. The PW9002 attaches to the back of the unit and provides up to 6 hours of operation when fully charged. The PW9003 connects directly to the voltage line under test, supplying power to the instrument as long as the line remains energized. These flexible power options ensure dependable use in both fixed installations and mobile field environments.

This power logger is designed for energy consultants, facility managers, and service engineers seeking a reliable and safe tool for energy monitoring. Its compact form factor allows installation in tight spaces such as switchboards and distribution cabinets. The device supports real-time monitoring via LAN and is compatible with the free HIOKI Gennect One PC software for continuous observation of energy usage. Whether used for short-term audits or long-term monitoring, the PW3360-21 provides accurate data that support energy savings and improved operational efficiency.
