Parameters and specifications

The SA9001 is a set of sample containers designed for impedance measurements of N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone (NMP)-based slurries used in the development and production of lithium-ion batteries. The product is used together with the SA9002 Test Fixture as part of the SA2634-KIT Slurry Analysis System from HIOKI.

Each package contains 50 single-use sample containers, with each container intended for one-time use to prevent cross-contamination between measurements. Each container holds approximately 1 ml of slurry.

The electrode surfaces are nickel-plated, providing a durable, low-resistance electrical contact optimized for impedance analysis of NMP-based slurries. When mounted in the SA9002 Test Fixture, the electrode geometry and contact conditions are precisely defined, ensuring high repeatability and reproducibility of impedance measurements.

NMP-based slurries are commonly used in the development and production of cathode materials such as Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese (NCM) and Nickel-Cobalt-Aluminum (NCA). Because NMP effectively dissolves binder materials, it enables homogeneous dispersion of conductive additives. The uniformity of this dispersion has a significant impact on the electrochemical performance of the resulting electrodes, making impedance characterization a key tool for process optimization.

Although the SA9001 sample containers are part of the SA2634-KIT Slurry Analysis System, they can also be purchased separately and used with other HIOKI LCR meters and impedance analyzers in combination with the SA9002 Test Fixture. The containers are optimized specifically for NMP-based slurry materials; use with other conductive pastes may result in different contact characteristics and is not covered by the manufacturer’s specifications.
