Parameters and specifications

Shieldex® Bern is a chemically bonded nonwoven fabric made of silver-metallized polyamide with a purity of 99.9%. Due to its silver content of approx. 40%, Shieldex® Bern is an electrically and thermally conductive nonwoven fabric that is used as a lining fabric in the clothing industry, mainly due to its antimicrobial properties. With a shielding performance of up to 45 dB in the frequency range from 0.2 to 5 GHz, the conductive material also shields against electromagnetic radiation. This means, for example, that electromagnetic radiation acting on the body can be reduced. Shieldex® Bern has an electrical conductivity of < 2.5 Ω/□ and can therefore be used as a laminate for conducting electric currents or as a lightning conductor in aircraft wings. The textile is RoHS and REACH compliant.
