    Detailed Product Overview

The HIOKI SP7100 CAN Interface is used together with the SP7001 non-contact CAN FD Sensor and the SP9200 screw-type or SP9250 clamp-type probe sets to reconstruct and output CAN or CAN FD signals detected through cable insulation. It provides two independent input channels, allowing simultaneous monitoring of up to two CAN buses.

Each channel receives the differential signal captured by an SP7001 sensor and reproduces a clean, protocol-accurate CAN signal for direct connection to Vector Informatik interfaces or to HIOKI instruments such as the PW4001 Power Analyzer. Supporting communication speeds from 125 kbit/s to 3 Mbit/s with a typical delay of 130 ns, the SP7100 ensures precise timing and waveform fidelity even in high-speed CAN FD applications.

Powered by a 10 to 30 V DC input, the SP7100 is suitable for both in-vehicle and bench-top use. Its D-sub 9-pin female output connector follows the Vector-compatible pin assignment and can be connected directly to CAN analysis tools or to the PW4001 without additional adapters.

The SP7100 is also included in the SP7001-90 CAN Sensor Set and can be combined with SP7001 sensors and SP9200 or SP9250 probes to build custom measurement configurations. To interpret or decode CAN data, a DBC (Database Container) file is required containing the identifiers and scaling parameters of the target signals.
