Detailed Product Overview

The Z3003 Multiplexer Card is an optional extension for the RM3545A-2 resistance meter that enables automated multi-point resistance measurements. Each card provides 10 channels for 4-terminal measurement and 21 channels for 2-terminal measurement, with switching performed by mechanical relays through a D-sub 50-pin connector.

By installing two cards in the RM3545A-2, the system can scan up to 20 channels (4-wire) or 42 channels (2-wire), significantly increasing throughput in both production and R&D environments. The 4-wire configuration is the preferred method for low-resistance measurement, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability even at milliohm levels. However, in applications such as thermistor evaluation or other moderate-resistance components, the 2- wire mode can be used to expand channel capacity while maintaining sufficient precision for comparative measurements.

Automated multi-point measurement

The Z3003 is particularly effective in applications where many samples or test points must be measured in sequence. Because the electrical resistance measurement itself is completed very quickly, overall test time is often limited by mechanical handling. By using one or two cards, multiple DUTs can be connected and measured automatically, eliminating manual reconnection and significantly shortening total measurement time in high-volume test setups. The Z3003 is compatible with both the RM3545A-2 and RM3545-02 resistance meters and can be installed in either instrument with a screwdriver in only a few minutes.
